PureSpectrum (Pinksheets:PSPM) announced that they will introduce their proprietary “Wireless Dimming System” at Lightfair International in May.
Is this Savannah, Georgia based company going to shock the world May 5, 2009 at LightFair 2009 with its’ product line?
We definitely think so!
PureSpectrum, Inc. to Introduce Proprietary Wireless Dimming System at LightFair International in May
Remote Sensor Dimming Will Provide Cost Effective Way to Implement Daylight Harvesting and Other Energy Saving Strategies
SAVANNAH, GA, Apr 19, 2009 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) — PureSpectrum, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: PSPM) will debut at LightFair International in May a wireless dimming system that utilizes remote photo cells and sophisticated sensory circuitry to not only adjust light levels according to available ambient light but also track energy usage during peak and off-peak times of day.
The proprietary system designed by PureSpectrum’s engineering team will be a cost effective solution for commercial and industrial structures to implement energy saving strategies such as daylight harvesting and occupancy sensors which modify light levels in order to reduce energy usage at appropriate times. Rather than rewiring an entire building, PureSpectrum’s system can be retrofitted to function with existing fixtures simply by installing remote exterior photo cells and proprietary dimming devices which control light levels and gather energy usage data.
By installing PureSpectrum’s cost effective lighting controls system, owners of commercial and industrial structures will save money on labor costs required to implement the system and thus dramatically reduce the amount of time required to recoup the initial capital investment to purchase and install the system. Additionally, by reducing energy usage through the use of daylight harvesting and other adjustable lighting systems dependant on dimming, building owners will earn carbon credits that can be traded as commodities and potentially generate revenue.
“A primary element of our corporate mission is to reduce the carbon footprint generated by lighting, and daylight harvesting and occupancy sensors are going to play a large role in meeting that goal,” said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. “We have so many opportunities right now, because the technologies we have developed have addressed a true need within the lighting market by making the consumer the first priority during product development. We understand that increased energy efficiency is necessary in the lighting industry, but we are also acutely aware that our products need to provide unique benefits and be customer-friendly in order to guarantee repeat sales. A major component for implementation is cost, and our remote dimming system will enable commercial and industrial building owners to implement energy saving lighting plans for a fraction of the cost of rewiring an entire building.”
The system, which will be protected under PureSpectrum’s intellectual property umbrella, will be demonstrated as part of PureSpectrum’s display booth at LightFair International and will serve as a complementary cross-sell to accompany the company’s patent-pending, affordable dimmable ballast for linear fluorescent bulbs. Linear fluorescent fixtures are the most widely used lighting applications for commercial and industrial environments, but high cost for dimmable ballasts for linear fluorescent lamps has prevented the widespread adoption of daylight harvesting and occupancy sensors despite the obvious advantages.
“From a business perspective, we are excited about being able to continue developing leading edge technologies which work in coordination with our other dimmable lighting products,” Vanatta said. “As we have told our shareholders throughout, PureSpectrum is a company that will continue to be driven by technology because we feel like continual technological advancement is the most efficient path to reaching our goal of impacting the lighting industry and generating multiple revenue streams.”
In conjunction with the wireless dimming system, PureSpectrum will be launching its branded dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) and exhibiting its affordable dimmable ballast technology for linear fluorescent lighting at LightFair International. The company is working with a private U.S. manufacturer to produce its dimmable CFLs and is in discussions with several manufacturers regarding production of its dimmable ballasts for linear fluorescents.
